Eloping in and around Fayetteville NC
Alright, you're engaged- now what? Ready to be legally committed to one another without a big fuss and without going into debt? I have options for you!
First things first, fill out a marriage application online. Next you'll have an appointment to get your marriage certificate. Make sure to bring: Social Security Cards, I.Ds/Passports, and Birth Certificates for Cumberland County. This fee is $60 as of 2025. Now you are ready to say I DO! In Cumberland County, "Courthouse" Weddings take place 24/7 at the Cumberland County Detention Center- No Photographers allowed inside, two witnesses required. I recommend us meeting afterwards for a downtown adventure to get that Eloping vibe in Historic Fayetteville.
Not loving how that sounds? Maybe finding an ordained minister to meet us in nature sounds better. I'm sure you've heard of friends becoming ordained online- while this is something you can do- many do not recommend as the legalities of it can come into question. I recommend doing your own research before going that route- I'm happy to help find a truly ordained minister for us.
Where can you elope without the fuss? Really anywhere- but here are a few beautiful spots I'd recommend checking out.
